DVD Synopsis and information:
Dolly Parton plays Jake, a country singer with a big heart and a love for her music. Jake has a manager with a less than squeaky clean persona that she has just bet the farm with. Now she has to rely on Nick, played by Sylvester Stallone, a loud talking cab driver from New York City. Will Dolly Parton be able to teach Sylvester Stallone to be a country music signer? This seems to be a very tall order but with some Dolly sized determination anything can happen. Parton's songs in the film are terrific and full of her talent and energy.
 
Parton and Stallone have amazing on screen electricity and chemistry that is genuine and wonderful. All the performances here are wonderful. Bob Clark also directs the picture with a steady hand and has a great eye for comedy and heart. The comedy is swift and even rude at times but this film is full of fun and rib poking at all times. This is a very funny and sweet 80s movie that is just plain fun and has some really cool music to boot. No doubt that this one should be on your movie collection shelf.
