This is the original and chilling made for TV movie starring Elizabeth Montgomery that first aired on ABC February 10, 1975. An amazing adaptation and dramatization of one of the most infamous trials in American History. Lizzie Borden was accused on murdering her parents with an axe in 1893 in late 19th century Massachusetts. Montgomery gives a mesmerizing performance and is riving in each scene she is in. A very chilling tale. There have been reports of Lizzie Borden's ghost now being sighted, perhaps a movie about that would be an excellent addition to this title. An excellent TV movie that depicts a fascinating character and story study of the Lizzie Borden murders.
The costumes and set design are quite authentic. This is a dark and brooding made for TV movie. Montgomery gives a fascinating and believable performance in this bizarre TV movie. This should be a part of any murder trial or serial killer film collection.
